The next super earth is found
Scientists from the Canary institute of astrophysics and La-Lagoun's (Spain) University have found the planet of GJ of 536 b which mass is about 5,4 times more than the mass of Earth that allows to carry it to a class of the planets called by "super lands".
This exoplanet is removed from us on only 32 light years. It rotates around GJ 536 star outside a habitability zone, but its short orbital period (8,7 days), brightness of the next star which is a cold red dwarf, and a close arrangement to the Sun, do the planet by an attractive object from the point of view of a research of its atmosphere. During this research scientists watched a cycle of the magnetic activity similar on solar, but with shorter period (3 years).
"Still GJ of 536 b remains the unique planet which we managed to find in this system. But we continue to watch a star and, perhaps, we will see other her companions among whom there will be stony planets located in a star habitability zone — one of authors of work Alejandro Suárez Mascareno reported. — Stony planets usually exist in groups, especially near stars of this type, and we are sure that we will be able to find also other less massive planets in orbits, farther from a star, with the periods from 100 days to several years. We prepare the program of monitoring of transit of this new exoplanet to determine its radius and average density".
The stony exoplanet rotates around a star which much less and more cold than the Sun, but at the same time it rather bright and close to us. It can be observed both from Northern, and from the Southern hemisphere that, according to scientists, opens new interesting opportunities for researches with use of future highly stable spectrographs.
"To find the planet, we shall measure star speed with an accuracy about one meter per second — the coauthor Raphaël Rebollo told. — By means of the new ESPRESSO tool developed in a cooperation with the Canary institute of astrophysics we could improve this accuracy by 10 times and now we have an opportunity to expand our searches of planets, similar to Earth, in the neighborhood of this and many other nearby stars".
