How to break self-destructive patterns.
Often times we find ourselves in a living situation that becomes constrictive, damaging, and/or dampening to one's advancement in whichever practices they have immersed themselves in. This may bring one to a downward spiral very quickly, leading one to become lost in worldly pleasures or lost within the torment of one's own mind. In this state, one may find themselves making advances, but normally very little and slowly.
The first step in rectifying this side-step is to recognize one's actions and reactions, analyzing each, and cataloging them as entropic or harmonic (that which breaks down one's Being, and that which is conducive of expansion of one's being). At this point, one must put into rigorous practice the reconditioning of one's current methods, focusing on the traits which were archived as being in harmony with one's Self, putting emphasis on the more positive virtues.
When one is to slip up, one should not chastise oneself, as this would perpetuate the frequency one is attempting to reform. Instead, when one is to accidentally return to one's previous patterns, simply acknowledge that Self is existing in human form and Self is reconstructing the ego.
Smile.
Thanks for the inspiring article :)
You're very welcome! Bless!
Really needed this, I've been so bad lately.. :*(
I am glad that these words have helped. :) I too have felt the pangs of loneliness over the past months. I ended a 5 year relationship in December of 2015 and re-immersing myself back into the social world has been more than a chore. I'm a loner by nature, but also I love people and their company - I just become overwhelmed quickly and need more time alone to recover than I can spend with large groups of more than 4 or 5 people. I've done well by realizing, through my school of thought, that we are all connected - past, present, and future existences are all but aspects of a singular entity. Seeing that we're all one, and that we are all connected - I can never be alone. When I feel so alone that it hurts, I tend to call out to the Alchemists who have walked my path before me and I quickly no longer feel alone.
Useful for a lot of people - so happy to see this kind of content here. I was just on FB for 5 minutes and saw dogs getting their heads #ashed in & the guy was drinking their blood after... sorry for the visuals!
I'm glad that you enjoyed the read. FB is full of horrible images and stories. While I'm pretty desensitized to it, I just don't care to deal with scrolling past it any longer. Definitely really enjoying this site. :)
