From The Land Of Mountains #2 (Hat trick On Paragliding!)
2nd March : PARAGLIDING.
You can check out part 1, here.
The day before involved sight seeing and just looking around. It felt very similar to Kathmandu for some reason but cleaner, more organised and less crowded for sure! This day, however was not meant for relaxation at all. I don't remember having a day full of adrenaline rush before, such as this one.
After a very light meal, we were ready for paragliding form Sarangkot. The view is considered one of the most spectacular one and as we climbed the cliff I realised it was obvious why. The entire mountain range can be seen from this point itself along with A LOT of human-birds (paragliders) :P
After our issues with booking got resolved we switched back to the one "Hotel Milarepa" as were supposed to. It was small and cozy place to stay and we had also arranged the bookings for the adventure sports through them.
We began ascending the hill which was a long way up. We saw lot of people covering the same distance with mountain bikes while some were walking. Below is the video of the moment which electrified me at that moment and left me completely jaw dropped! (Please watch in HD)
About 50-60 solo-gliders flying beside each other! If that's not insane, what is? We passed below these guys while making our way to this side of the cliff. One of them also identified one of our pilots from up above :D
When I came to know that we were soon going join those guys, I felt like jumping from the cliff but then remembered I didn't have my parachute attached at that moment :P My pilot was André, from Ukraine who had just bought a new parachute the day before and was thrilled to give it a ride.
Can you see those tiny bird like creatures behind us? Those were THE gliders!! I felt the taste of pure ecstasy from this experience.. To be there and live that moment in gratefulness..that for me is limitless.. :)
This was the view of the gorgeous Phewa Lake. I had done boating with my friends and family before but never had I imagined it looked like this from up above! What do you think?
During our flight I had a nice chat with André where he shared that he had been paragliding for about 20 years and explained me a little more about the technicalities related to it.
We landed and there goes my pilot on his packing mission. My mom and brother had already landed before me and waved my from down below :) I have added another video of the part where we did the "Acrobats", which is spinning the parachute round and round. ( Also, one of my favourites and the part I await the most :D)
Some shots that @sauravrungta took of me :) Ain't this a view to die for?
I would strongly recommend you do this if you ever visit Pokhara! I absolutely loved paragliding from here which I was also suggested by my friends sometime back. You can see the entire city at one glance, which I think is super cool :)
I think I will end this post here and come back tomorrow with another adventure ;)
Till then, stay tuned!
Keep Creating
Lots of Love <3

Oh my gosh, you HAVE to!
I imagine it was a great adventure! I hope someday to be able to throw myself in parachute
Indeed! The pilot made it a lot of fun too :)
