A Paratha with that Charcoal Aroma - Roti Canai Kayu Arang Malacca

in #life5 years ago (edited)

This famous Roti Canai place get its name from the way its Roti Canai was prepared using a traditional Kayu Arang (charcoal) burner. This way, the Roti Canai is crispier and more fragrant, beautifully fried and has a smooth texture, than those prepared on gas stove. The dhal curry accompanying the Roti Canai is also much delicious. To top it off, the price is reasonable and below normal price and you will get that crispy Roti Canai for only 80 sen per piece. There are various types of roti canai sold here, including roti tampal, roti telur and roti nanchos, with prices ranging between 80 sen and RM5.

Roti Canai Kayu Arang was established 20 years ago and still going strong. Charcoal is more expensive than gas but traditional method always the best and had made their roti canai more fragrance and crispier hence this place has retained its spot as the most famous Roti Canai place in Malaysia. The food stall is located by the AMJ Highway near Bachang Malacca and opens daily from 6.30am to 12.30pm. Roti Canai Kayu Arang has become a must stop for tourists visiting Malacca Malaysia.

Because of its famous among local and tourists, this eatery is extremely crowded in the weekends and especially during holiday seasons. The wait for a simple Roti Canai would mean waiting for an hour or more. So do plan well before coming here.
