Winter is Coming!!!!

Its getting cold out there now. The snow squeaks beneath my boots with a satisfying grip, crack, and crunch.
Layering up takes time, and layering down also.
The dressing and undressing has become a large portion of the effort required in doing anything that involves leaving the house.

I love the cold air though, it opens my lungs, congealing the tar collected there, gently wrapping it in mucous and then hurtling it up and outwards with a cough and a spit.
I laugh at smart cars spinning their wheels behind snow plow mountains and shake my head in awe as the real pro's navigate the streets with double length accordion busses.

The strollers have turned to sleds now and out of my window i cant help but smile watching these hearty Canadian parents of the north dragging their children to school and back again on frozen sidewalks of ice.
Most of all I have been falling for the sunsets, warm and orange and beautiful on the snow, even though they happen at around four in the afternoon and leave the still bustling city shrouded in darkness for the next 14 hours.
