Japanese company Vinclu Inc. has recently introduced a "digital wife" named Gatebox. The purpose of the company makes Gatebox not only to pursue entertainment alone, but they want that character can be a friend in everyday life.

Azuma Hikari is the name of a "digital wife" who can wake you up every morning, read letters, even turn on lights like smart home.

In a video, Azuma Hikari portrayed a woman with a blue-haired appearance at about 20 years old with donut favorite food and hates insects.

In the video hikari reminds the owner to bring an umbrella. Hikari itself has an emotional intelligence and connected to the internet, so even though the owner is away, hikari can still pay attention through the chat service.

The price of the Gatebox itself amounts to 298,000 Japanese yen or 2,600 US dollars. From the news circulating, Gatebox will be officially released in December 2017.

But not all netizens have a positive response to this Gatebox. They are concerned that the hologram couple may be a bad partner against a nation that has a problem of decreasing birth rates.
