I am 100% with you when you say, that history repeats itself. It usually does, in one form or another. But I wouldn't equate the horrors, that ethnically Japanese people had to face, with illegal immigrants in 2018. The US' culture has historically been cherishing honest, hard work, so why should immigrants be an exception?
As someone, who isn't a native of the country he's living in, and hence as someone, who is grateful for every opportunity given to me by that country, I believe, that immigrants should get a fair chance at becoming citizens. But the country, that's willing to take in immigrants, should also have the liberty of choosing, who is allowed to come in, and who isn't.
