Who wouldn't like to live in one of these houses? Choose one...just one.
Every house is unique in the owner's eyes. Sometimes, some houses seem to be just plain copies of other houses. This is not the case, however, in the examples of houses that will be presented below. The imagination of the owners and the architects is breathtaking. Some strange, others just funny, these houses have become tourist attractions over time due to their... not so ordinary appearance. Without any other introductions, let's take a look at some of them.
The Upside down House
This example of abstract art is located in Szymbark, Poland. Undoubtedly this building deserves its place among the strangest houses in the world.
Everything about this house is upside down. Even inside, the furniture is mounted on the ceiling - or, rather, on the floor.
The house is a popular tourist destination. It offers tourists something very unusual to see.
The Exploding house
Here's one of the strangest houses you've ever seen. It was to be demolished, but these two artists turned it into a beautiful piece of art.
They used planks to create a tunnel like a vortex. It enters the front door and reaches the back yard. The idea was to create a house that seemed to be swallowed by a black hole.
The House of the Hobbit
This unique construction was inspired by the Lord of the Rings. It cost $ 5,200 and lasted between 1,000 and 1,500 hours to complete.
The most impressive part is that it was created using only a drumstick, a chisel and a hammer. The house is very practical.
The refrigerator works on the basis of the cold air under the ground, and the electricity is provided by solar panels.
The House of the Barking Dog
This house resembles a dog of the Beagle breed known as the dog's bark. It is located in Idaho, USA, and was built in 2003.
Frances Conklin and Dennis Sullivan are the artists who used a chaninsaw to build this unusual house. They earned their existence by carving wooden dogs before they came up with the idea of building this house.
Now they rent the house to dog lovers. It fits, doesn't it?
The Steel House
The steel house is located in the Ransom Canyon and costs 3 million dollars! Designed by sculptor and architect Robert Bruno, it is made of 110 tons of steel, and construction work lasted 23 years.
The Mirror House
This house is located in a village area in The Netherlands. It shelters a studio.
It has floor-to-roof windows that serve as mirrors. The huge sliding doors can be fully opened when you want sunlight to enter.
The Mushroom House
This house is located in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was designed by Terry Brown, an architect and professor of architecture and interior design at the University of Cincinnati.
It was built to serve as a second student home from 1992 to 2006. Unfortunately, it was released for sale in 2006.
Two years later, Terry Brown died. He designed the house to be as simple as possible. This masterpiece is made of many materials, such as ceramics, various metals, wood and glass.
The Spitbank Fort in Solen, near Portsmouth Port
This place was built in 1861. Initially, it was a marine fort with cannons. The times of those wars have passed, so the British Ministry of Defense decided in 1962 that there was no need for a fort.
Therefore, it was sold to a private owner. It has been turned into a luxury hotel with 50 rooms, a restaurant, a dance hall, and a rooftop jacuzzi.
An important detail: the fort is in the middle of the sea.
The Boeing 727 House
This unique home was built in 1999 by plane lover Bruce Campbell. He bought this old plane for about $ 100,000.
Then, he spent another $ 220,000 to remodel the interior to his liking.
The Marshmallow House
This house looks like a melting meringue. It is a former prison that was transformed by the architects Berdaguer and Pejus into a house like a white meringue.
The Star Trek Voyager House
The Star Trek Voyager Legacy is alive. This unique home was built by Tony Alleyne.
It has futuristic LED lights and Star Trek sound effects. Even if Alleyne's dream was materialized, eventually the house came to his wife after an unhappy divorce.
The Flinstones Cave House
The Flintstone family has come into being through modern design. Although it seems to be a stone-age design, this house has a wi-fi, a TV and a spacious kitchen.
In addition, it is built on the coast of California, so it also provides a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean.
Langtry House in Hampstead, London
You probably have not heard of this house and you have not seen pictures with its facade. You probably do not even know where it is, and that for a very good reason.
It is built largely underground. It costs 4.5 million pounds and has 3 splendidly decorated bedrooms, a fitness room and a cinema.
