Nigerian Goods: let value it
Dictionary.com defines Goods as things produced to be sold. This means that Nigerian goods are those things that are produced in Nigeria.
Every country produce one goods or the other that are exported to other countries and most especially consumed or used in that particular country.
Nigeria as a country produce so many things which include; farm produce (such as yam, cocoyam, cassava, maize, rice etc), Vegetables (such as onions, bitter leaf, tomatoes, pepper, water leaf etc), fruits (mango, cashew, orange, guava etc), Agricultural produce ( timber, palm produce, rubber, cocoa, groundnut), minerals ( crude oil, tin and columbite, limestone, gold, iron ore), manufactured goods (like cement, textiles, exercise books, soaps etc).
All these goods are produced in Nigeria and is expected that Nigerians patronise them. But it disheartening when you hear people condeming Nigerian made goods, some will say they are fake products..
I must say am a victim to this, I don't like local rice because for me i see it as stress removing the chafs and stones that are in them before cooking unlike foreign rice that is neat and stress free.
But come to think of it, the local rice is more nutritional because little or no chemical is added to preserve it unlike the foreign rice that is kept in the name of preserving it for a very long time.....
Lol...I just remembered something, my mum sent me to the market to buy a bathing soap for her, before I left she told me clearly to check where it was made. According to her, she said the one that is written made in England on the pack is the original one...I laughed, I was like so there is no one made in Nigeria and she said that will be the fake one..
Can you see our mentality about our home made goods.. How do we expect our country to grow when we don't appreciate what is produced in the country or even use them.
WHY WE NEED TO VALUE NIGERIAN GOODS
There are so many reasons why we need to value our home made goods.
As Good citizens we ought to be proud of our country and be self reliant, we need to be contented and satisfied with our products.
When we patronise our home made goods, it promotes hard work among us.
It encourages producers to put more effort into their jobs and produce more quality goods.
Importantly, it promotes national survival and progress.
Another important reason why we need to patronise Nigerian goods is to increase the chances of employment in the country. There will be great need to produce more goods and more hands will be needed in the industries to meet the needs of the people.
Prices of goods are likely to be affordable to many citizens especially the poor.
What are we still waiting for?
Hurray now and start patronising made in Nigeria goods for national pride.

Hello @adabless
Made in Nigeria goods are quite as laudable as those made overseas. It's just that over the years, we've been taught to acknowledge those from Yankee as 'way better'.
Nothing can shake the fact that we have what it takes to produce goods that will meet world standard but we can only get there when Nigerians start becoming patriotic and supporting their own.
@penauthor
Being patriotic and supporting our is the only way Nigerians can grow
Great piece @Adabless...
