Cut Meutia (Tjut Njak Meutia): A National Hero from Aceh

Indonesia has many heroes. Almost every region has a hero who contributed in the struggle for Indonesian independence. Aceh also has many heroes. Some of whom have been recognized as national heroes, but there are still many Acehnese heroes who have not been registered as national heroes. One of our national heroes is Cut Meutia.

The name of Cut Meutia has long been recognized as a national hero. Her name also became a street name in several cities in Indonesia. Cut Meutia comes from Matangkuli, North Aceh, Aceh. Now her name is also immortalized as the name of a regional general hospital. Namely Rumah Sakit Umum Cut Meutia (Cut Meutia Hospital).
