I understand and feel the same way. I used to pray to god to give me good skills in arts and crafts. But, my parents always told me that arts will not bring money and where there is no money, there is no happiness. But, I do not accuse them of that mentality, it was the environment they grew in.

They wanted me to live a life that they could not afford. We were still happy when we did not have enough money. I too think that making other people smile and happy makes your inner human more happy.
