I don't study history, but I like it. I often talk about the book, "Generations..." the book that began my interest in viewing "history" (still haven't come up with a better word) from the perspectives of different generations, although it might be even more interesting, albeit complex to take a demographic look at history as well. One would get quite a different perspective of the War of 1812, for example, from the Native tribes that fought with the Brits against the "Americans" than from the Yanks who fought on the American side.
According to the authors of "Generations..." and other titles along this line, a spiritual revival tends to occur, at least in the US, after times of great wars. It was during Reconstruction in the US that theosophical groups began popping up. Similarly post WW1 America saw the rise of mediums claiming to contact the "other side."
As the United States is constantly at war, and war causes the deaths of loved ones, it stand to reason that a Spiritual Industrial Complex of sorts would emerge. Add, electronic media, special effects and showmen, and you get TV shows like "Crossing Over" where the host claims to talk to the dead.
Today, as the whole world seems to be crumbling, we have these folks out here trying to convince us that we are anything but human, (we're everything and human). And that we're part of a Galactic Community, Star Seeds (my favorite) or that we're going to make this great leap into Fifth Dimensional Consciousness.
We have a segment today about how interests become cults, then groups and then movements. Sort of.
It's a Monday Growth day, so all we have to do is wander around the area thinking up stuff to talk about. After 1,247 days, I'm all talked out. It might be time to add AI, revise from old topics, or do some writing and recording inside.
This seems like a long episode to me.
The Kamala countdown continues. We haven't forgotten about that. We're listening to the voices and looking at the memes, and watching America go nuts. Yet, we don't freak out. There's no profit in it. Ha ha.
