From Surviving to Thriving

in #liberty6 years ago (edited)

We often feel the need to instinctually protect ourselves from opposing viewpoints, and that we must battle and defeat their position to stay safe, for we perceive, rightly or wrongly, that their viewpoint can harm us in some way, shape, or form. This is why we typically experience an emotional charge when we're confronted with opposing viewpoints, because we feel threatened by them. However, if we can dig within ourselves, we can uproot the various underlying reasons why we believe that their viewpoints pose a threat to us. Once the internal limiting belief pattern and deceptive reasoning is removed within us, through setting a boundary, creating a new minimum standard for interactions, and/or becoming conscious of a hidden shadow aspect within us, the opposing viewpoint will no longer pose an external threat to us, and we can move beyond surviving, and into thriving. ~Nathan & Aline
