Disarming the "General Population"

In London you see them banning all forms of knives, especially carrying them, after having already banned firearms many years ago. This only becomes logical when you realize that the general population of a prison is not allowed weapons or knives of any sort. Yes, the world is slowly becoming a prison, and London is a front runner leading the transformation -- they must therefore disarm the inmates in order for it to be safe for the prison guards. Not only are we not really free -- we're actually building the cell walls of our tightly guarded prison!
