A Negotiated "Liberty Territory"? Would you be interested in settling a new land of liberty?
Throughout history, when people have been oppressed by their governments, they have left their homes in search of a new land where they could live as they pleased. If it worked for them, maybe it can work for us.
Of course today there is no unclaimed land worth living on and no one wants to fight and kill for land (which wouldn't work anyway), but we should be able to trade our way to a new Terrority, especially if we negotiate with a nation with a weak economy.
If a territory could be negotiated, would you want to live there? Would you be willing to move and build a new "nation" from scratch if it meant you could live without oppression?

I'm very interested in this idea but for now I have parents that I am not willing to leave behind and they would not be willing to move. Maybe I could help support this idea in some way and in the future join you.?
That sounds great! Thanks Reuden. I actually think this will develop in phases. There will be a first group that will pretty get things started and then there will be others that want to move to the territory once there are basic services in place.
You have done a great job in organizing projects in the past. I think you are just the kinda guy to get something like this going. I don't know enough about this crypto currency thing yet but have you see what some on here are doing with a house? You might incorporate some of their concept for this project. This is a really trippy concept to consider...
It's like anarcho-capitalist reverse colonization.
Do you think the Philippines? I wouldn't really consider the Phillippines a poor nation by a stretch, not to mention they have successfully resisted by and large, European and other colonization better than perhaps any nation in the world! Granted, modern crony capitalist colonization is another matter, but still.
Anyway, do you think any 'poor' nation would consider something like this? I mean... sovereignty is a pretty big deal for nations.
You would have to do it really slowly, over many many years, possibly generations, slowly establishing yourself, which is super risky if you don't like the alternative, or very quickly, with direct negotiation, with lots of amazing talent and huge sums of capital.
What sort of wealth would be needed to persuade such a government?
At the end of the day, if you are a nation ceding autonomy, to outsiders on your land, there would have to be some massively good rapport between the two parties, like... marriage, or family or massive wealth or business partnerships or something.
But then, with whom? Who would such an organization make agreements with? Not many nations are monarchies anymore, and everyone else is passing the torch more or less, at least for show... but then if it's for show you're probably out of your depth because large state actors are involved.
Finally... ( I wasn't planning on writing this much it just came out!)
So far, nation states don't have a super great track record of not murdering or otherwise assimilating groups into themselves as need be, so you'd definitely be bucking the trend.
Personally, I think the only solution is to render the existing structures of power and control meaningless, and innovate solutions for everyone, wherever they are, here and now... but that's why i'm in the blockchain space, and precisely why I'm here on Steemit.

And all in all, I'm in favor of movement and distributed physical communities which are connected through crypto, and other innovative tech.
