Liberty Professionals: Friends Who Are Fighting To Further Liberty's CausesteemCreated with Sketch.

in #liberty7 years ago (edited)

I've been discussing the concept of Liberty Professionals with a good friend of mine, @grow-pro, for years now. In the past he created all of the artwork below, and recently he has been making badges specific to Steemit. We believe this is the perfect platform to introduce the idea.

Liberty Professionals are individuals who are fighting to further liberty's cause. They are all friends whether they know each other or not, for they share a common primary objective in life. Your particular way of fighting doesn't matter either. If you are fighting for liberty's cause, you are a Liberty Professional.

As an expert grower and talented graphic artist, @grow-pro is a Liberty Professional. As a TV producer and photographer, @liberty-minded is a Liberty Professional. As a Private Investigator and residential security expert, I'm a Liberty Professional. What are your passions, and how are you using them to fight for liberty?

It is one concept with many uses.

My original idea was to create a network similar to LinkedIn but specifically for liberty-minded people. In fact I just discussed this concept today with @liberty-minded. Why not work for and with people who have the same beliefs? Wouldn't it make sense to hire workers, seek services, and barter with other liberty-minded people? I believe it does.

This is a banner that @grow-pro came up with for the original concept:

There is much more to the concept than just career networking and bartering however. It can also be used as a voluntary association to help each other out in times of need. In a recent post of mine I discussed voluntary charity.

Supporting fellow Liberty Professionals voluntarily would be a much easier decision over supporting complete strangers who do not have the same life long objectives. Help your genuine friends, fellow warriors in the fight for liberty, instead.

How will Steemians benefit specifically?

This platform has many liberty Professionals who are all working, in different ways, to further liberty. Eventually groups will be supported here. Until they are implemented, we can use the #libertyprofessionals tag in our posts. Badges can also be given to those who are in the fight. An example of a badge that @grow-pro designed is shown below.

With the tagging and badges, we can more easily identify each other. Then through voting and resteems of fellow Liberty Professionals, we'll build each other's networks with quality followers who have the same objectives in life. I will ask @firepower to make us a chat channel on Steemit.chat too.

The concept has a lot of potential, and the primary motivation behind it is to further liberty's cause. There are no strings attached, and it is completely voluntary. If there's more we can do with the idea to maximize its effectiveness, please share your ideas below. To get more liberty-minded people to see this post, please resteem it as well. Thank you!

I believe that STEEMIT truly is the perfect platform for #libertyprofessionals, here's just a few reasons why:
• working with likeminded individuals enhances the work being preformed. #steemgigs on SteemIt is an incredible and very early way to do this. Users can now source talent right on Steemit using the SteemGigs tag. I believe this will become greatly beneficial in the near future as new users come aboard.
• communities are coming to Steemit! A feature that will be coming soon! #LibertyProfessionals will no longer just be a tag!
• we are for a common goal - to promote Liberty. A worthwhile endeavor in any capacity. We all plant seeds that will benefit the future and there are limitless ways to do so.

@finnian, It has been something we have discussed for years and it's time is nearly here🔥🚀

You are truly a friend, a pleasure to work with and you are a highly creative. You have been a gracious and supportive friend for quite some time and I'm glad to be here to reciprocate. @liberty-minded is a sharp individual and one that I am not surprised we have aligned paths with. Like I said many years ago: Likeminds can find each other in the dark 😉. We are magnetic. Can't wait to see what we can collaboratively create together, as a community of Liberty Professionals. Exciting time to be alive my friends!

I had not heard of #steemgigs, and that's a great idea.

I want to support fellow liberty lovers with both contracted work and charity. Right now I'm looking to get some work done on my house for example, and it has been a HUGE pain to find an honest and quality company. As Steemit grows, there will be more Steemians local to us. Then such tags and groups will really shine.

There are so many people on here already who are our friends. It makes perfect sense to network with them, build each other's networks, and support each other through upvotes, business, and charity. The more we can help each other out as friends, the better!

#grow-pro, we were discussing this earlier today. Life is made so much more enjoyable when you're around people with the same objectives. Loyalty and trust are made so much easier because of it too. This idea is a worthy one to spread, and everyone involved benefits.

It would not have been such a polished idea either without your creative mind and skills. Thank you!

appreciate the mentions fellas...happy to be associated with a liberty-minded group like this.....get it boys....3%

This is a good initiative, and I firmly believe it will grow without much effort on our part. Unless I've missed it, there is no such alliance on Steemit. As liberty lovers too, of all different flavors from voluntaryists to libertarians, we need to stick together online and in life. Liberty Professionals makes that possible. Sure, it is just a name, but the idea is what's important. :)

Great! More cooperative-agorism is always appreciated and well needed within the liberty minded community! I will follow this project closely for sure!

Thanks! As liberty lovers, it makes sense for us to network together on and off Steemit. :)

Absolutely =) I forgot to mention there's also a #cooperative-agorism tag, so should a post be related to that you could include it.

Nice, is there a channel too? I will check.

It's strange how much I agree with libertarian views, while at the same time, I'm a Berner. I just lived through watching our current system destroy my father, and I have so many friends in other countries who have single payer healthcare and love it. They are a constant reminder that, if I lived in their country, my father wouldn't have died in debt to the insurance/medical machinery that drove him into poverty. And this, after a life spent working to help others and build something for his family. All I have left of him is his ashes, a 16-year-old car, and a pile of medical bills, law books, and crazy handwritten notes he wrote as he slowly succumbed to dementia.
I don't like being forced to pay taxes that go to line corrupt politicians' pockets and buy bombs and bullets to kill people I care for in other countries. I have friends all over the world because of the internet, and they tell me what is really going on. We're being lied to, here.
If you have an answer to all of that, I'm listening. I'm all in for uniting against the rulers, if all they want is to profit from sending us to war.

No one should be forced to pay another person's medical bills. The government should get out of the business entirely. Our costs are through the roof because of all the government regulations. Doctors cannot make enough money anymore to justify staying doctors. The best people in other words are leaving the profession. That's what happens when you have a government take over the industry too.

We want the best minds in medicine to stay there, right? You do that by incentives, not the opposite. Worst of all, you end up with a two tier system, and the folks without enough money get the crappy lower tier for "free." Guess what though? The wealthy people still get the top tier. They will pay cash to the top doctors for quality care while everyone else gets screwed.

It's hard to maintain a health care system too when so many people don't lift a finger to stay healthy. They eat horribly, do not exercise, and have horrible habits. Then they wonder why they get sick, and then the health care system cannot support them. We need to take a step back as a people and focus on nutrition and staying healthy in the first place.

Then the medical system would fix itself in the free market. Prices would come down, you'd still have quality people as doctors, and the rare person who needed help would get it through voluntary charity by individuals and communities. How are we going to force the best doctors to stay in the business? Are we going to chain them to their operating tables? It isn't going to work.

Ron Paul talked about this in the past. Women who could not afford medical services were helped anyway. People were not turned away when they needed help. Now though? Everything is broken, and doctors have no choice but to turn people away. They are already refusing to take patients with medicare coverage as just one example. Again, is the government going to force them to do it? That won't work well.
