RE: Fauxcahontas, Grey Owl, and Dull 'Hawk

I respectfully disagree with you.
I could give less than a wooden nickel about EW's ancestry but what I do know is that she has the right to claim her ancestry. It doesn't mean that culturally she is Native. It does mean that noone has the right to take her ancestry away from her. Obviously her family stories turned out to be correct and those stories were probably told in her family like other families because at one point it was important for someone to pass that information down.

What is sad is that Native culture has been diluted to the point where it is almost an unknown to most. Her blood being diluted is of no real significance. Words like yours, even though not intentional, spread alienation. And again, although not intentional they are a byproduct of of the legacy of rascism.

Again, this is not really said to insult anyone. Just my opinion. Peace to you.

She used her dubious claim for personal gain and as justification to rule others.

It is true that native cultures have suffered at the hands of the US government goons like Warren.

All the fuss about blood, race, and ancestry really means little, though. We are all human. What does it matter which subgroup of humanity one's ancestors came from?

Not personally a fan of Warren but I disagree with "dubious", "personal gain", and "goons".

While the vast majority of the individual's ancestry is European, the results strongly support the existence of an unadmixed Native American ancestor in the individual's pedigree, likely in the range of 6-10 generations ago," the report said.

Here is where the reporting went off course. The report said Ms Warren had 10 times more Native American ancestry than the reference set from Utah and 12 times more than the set from Britain. The report also said the long segment on Chromosome 10 indicated the DNA came from a relatively recent ancestor.

I do however agree with your last statement. Except in the case where people intentionally segregate themselves for racist reasons. In that case I would say race or race based affiliations do matter.

She's a government thug who wants to send men with guns to impose her opinions. That is indisputable. She brags about it, although she uses weasel words to sound benevolent about it. She listed herself as "Native American" at Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania on the strength of undocumented family lore, thus the charge of "dubious," and while she and he universities insist it wasn't for personal gain, the whole thing reeks of bullshit. She also listed herself as "Native American" in law school directories, and that can only be seen as a bid for personal gain.
