How many times have you seen the claim that America has more guns (and fewer anti-gun "laws") than other civilized societies in "The West"?

It's a nonsense claim.

Countries with anti-gun "laws" are not civilized. They may be domesticated, or not. But "civilized"? No way!

One non-negotiable mark of a civilized society is that it doesn't interfere with the liberty or rights of those inside it. Anti-gun "laws" do interfere. They treat the residents as bad, stupid, helpless children.

All else being equal, the more anti-gun "laws", the less civilized a society. No matter the claims made about it by its fans.

"An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life." - Robert A. Heinlein

couldn't agree more with this quote.

you can't control over the society where peoples belongs a gun, if you really want to controll, your hand will be filled with gun, and gun every where, only defense and armed force maintain gun, no civilian belongs it. simple ethics.

An armed civilian is hard for a government to control, but not a threat to society. An armed government is always a threat to society, because governments necessarily act through violations of the rights of the civilian population. they may mean to govern well, but they mean to govern.

Lots of countries in Africa, Asia and within the Americas have laws which restrict a lot of people from owning weapons. The mistreatment of many of these people committed by these governments doesn't show me a civilized society, it's just another form of slavery.

There are two ways to deal with another, one by logic/reasoning and the other by force. If you ask me to do something for you, you can either CONVINCE me or FORCE me.

A civilized society is suppoed to have ethical, moral and intellectual development. It does not stand for this, that you have mentioned above.

If there are more anti-gun laws in the state, there will uncontrollable number of violent crimes.

A civilian has all the rights in the world to keep arms for security purposes but the state must bind him with certain laws.

Amazing blog post sir, great job once again.

Fantastic sir love the approach you carry through out your blog posts, thank you sir.

A civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing...@dullhawk

I agree with you sir,btw awesome blog post thanks a lot sir fot sharing such amazing articles.

There is nothing civilized about denying the individual's right to self-defense or the means to effectively exercise it. There is nothing civilized about sending men with guns to enforce laws against natural rights. People confuse government with society, and government's laws with civilization. This is a gross error in reasoning.

Yeah, I find it tragic when someone can't see the difference between society and government/The State, and then constantly puts their foot in their mouth because of the lack of understanding.

And the saddest part is that the people who do understand the concept of liberty as it applies to firearms usually can't see it as it applies to travel, work, drugs, etc. Self-ownership means self-ownership. But if people disagree with the way someone exercises self-ownership, the typical immediate response is a deluge of fallacies.

Yes, that's incredibly common and hypocritical.
