RE: Preparation is More than Buying Bottled Water

in #liberty6 years ago

That was really long. And felt like two posts. But i see why you tried to put them together.

The thing i like most about cryptos is the lack of massive printing by the central printer, or in other words, inflation.
If i saved all the money i made in the 80s, it wouldn't allow me to retire today. Compound interest is nice, but compound inflation is really mean.

I see your stance on prepping and gold, however it seems to me to only go so far.

A though of mine, on how to retire was to buy a house. Do whatever it took to pay off the house. Then buy 30 years of freeze dried food. Then, you should be able to live for 30 years.... retired. Now, that is actually investing in real wealth. But there is so little real wealth.

Sure, you could buy 1000 acres, but with only one person, 1000 acres is more than you could ever handle or use. So, what use is it?
Similarly you could buy $1000 of food from the farmers market, but preparing and eating it... most of it will be rot.

I just can't think of anything i could buy and sit on that would absolutely survive the collapse.
Things that come close is buying a home depot. Having a large stock pile of metal and plywood.
Buy a 1/4" bolt making machine, or other milling equipment.

So, like you were trying to say at the beginning, be prepared for storms that come often, and you will be mostly prepared for the collapse. (whether it comes or not)
