RE: Seeds on fertile soil
I've gotten more anarchist/Voluntaryist over the years. I was really not at all "political" for most of my early life. I hated government, but never thought about why.
Back in 2000 I got ahold of L. Neil Smith's book Lever Action and for the first time discovered there was a name for how I'd pretty much always believed: libertarian. I was really shocked that anyone was like me; I seriously thought I was the only one up to that point.
I still had a lot of "buts". I've been finding and eliminating them ever since.
I had big 'buts', I cannot lie.
For me it was a conversation on Facebook.
A friend asked another friend if he was more a fan of Friedman or Keynes.
Until then I had no idea that there were vastly different schools of economic thought.
I downloaded Milton Friedman's Free to Choose TV series and fell straight down the rabbit hole.
