McDonalds AutomationsteemCreated with Sketch.

So I went into the McDonalds restaurant on my training route with my SJW trainee today, and we saw the lovely touch screens to place our order. She said “I’m gonna go to the register cause I’m gonna support a job” , I said well I’ll use the touch screen.

The touch screen asked me to grab a number plate sitting next to it. So after I ordered a grabbed on and went to sit down. A few minutes later a lady (the cashier) brought my food. I said to my trainee that I am keeping a job, and making her job easier, cause she’d much rather just deliver me food than have to take my order. My trainee went and got her food at the register.

McDonalds is using the touch screens and making service better. Place your order, then sit down and wait for your food. They never did that before. But now they can afford that. My SJW trainee was so pissed that I was right..... I felt great. One win for automation.281C2EEB-6475-4D49-BC90-E5E72684FFF3.jpeg

The real crisis will come in a few years when the heads of the DNC realize that they can keep more of the graft for themselves if they replace their Social Justice Warriors with SJW-Bots.

As we see in SteemIt, Bots can be just as loud and annoying as human trolls.

I'm a conservative and I hate SJW's talking about feminism and a bunch of BS, but McDonald's already serves crappy food. I think you're friend is right. There is something nice about talking to a real human being, and being served food the old fashioned away.

I'm not against automation, but food is a social forum. Let's keep the robots somewhere else.

Of course McDonalds sells crappy food, and service sucks. Just making a a point that by them having you order your own food at the touch screen you can have one point of service which is sit down and have your food brought to your table, so,the job did not go anywhere, it just made that persons job easier.

I understand your perspective on SJW's, but I worry McDonald's it's setting a bad precedent. How would you like to go to a fancy restaurant, and have to enter your order on a tablet? This could be the future, if we don't speak out against it.

Sometimes were so busy working all day, having 30 seconds interaction with a stranger taking your order can be pleasant.

Huh? Fancy restaurant? McDonalds? You may be are being sarcastic. I am pretty sure I’m not gonna take my wife on a date to a fine dining restaurant that has a touch screen. Fine dining restaurant servers are trained in Wine, up selling liquor etc. McDonalds cashiers are trained in smiling and taking orders, and 9 out of 10 times they get the smiling part wrong. So I’ll be fine with the interaction when the drop the food at my table, and I say thank you.

I'm just saying the rollout of touch screens will start at McDonald's, and could make it's way to some restaurants. Hopefully the food industry doesn't go overboard.

Chili’s has done it also, they still have waiters but if you go you can order and pay with a little iPad looking thing at the table. I just think the people who prefer a certain level of service will avoid those restaurants, and a person who doesn’t care will frequent other restaurants. I don’t think it’s a matter of “going overboard”, it’s a way to control costs, while still providing a product people want. Automation is not necessarily bad, if the services provided get better. If people value the human interaction, that is a service demanded. So if they got rid of cashiers, and only had a few food deliverers, wouldn’t that allow for a much friendlier interaction? The person is less stress, a huge line does not force them to rush you through your order, and they can drop your food to you with a smile, and maybe ask if they can get you anything.
