Several lawsuits stemming from the Charleston church shooting were just slapped down by a judge, who deemed the federal government is immune from prosecution. In the 22 page ruling, he cites the FTCA (Federal Tort Claims Act). It gives immunity from prosecution if government actions or inaction causes injury, or death in this case.

This tells you everything you need to know about the State. If the State fucks up and people die or get hurt, you can't sue them for negligence. If I were to fuck up and get someone killed or hurt, my ass would be in a sling and would get sued into the dirt. Also, relying on government to find the government guilty on anything is wishful thinking. As long as we live in Kafka's worst nightmare, where both Aldous Huxley's, and George Orwell's works are used as instruction manuals instead of the fiction novels they are.

So, please run for office. An elected libertarian's job is to decentralize and repeal. Try to take away power from the federal government, and repeal bad laws like the FTCA!
