Liberthon - Hack The Future of Nations
The first hackathon for reinventing the way countries work using P2P decentralized technologies.
See your ideas come to life in 30 hours as 50 developers in Tel Aviv and dozens remotely around the world, along with decentralized technology leaders including the founder of the Free Republic of Liberland, as they collaborate together to fulfill your dreams.
Liberthon aims to empower Liberland developers, designers and entrepreneurs like yourself who are eager to use the P2P decentralized technologies. By providing you with an environment along with workshops and mentorship so that you can be free to create, explore and learn to build the future of nations.

Liberland
The Free Republic of Liberland is the world's first nation that is built on decentralized technologies and built on blockchain technology. Established as a sovereign state in 2015, Liberland is located between Croatia and Serbia, on the west bank of the Danube River. Vit Jedlicka, the President of Liberland, established the young state with the support of more than half a million registered citizens.
Spacemesh
Spacemesh, a growing Israeli blockchain company with an exciting vision. It’s aim is to create fair cryptocurrency designed to become the global means of payment and appropriate global infrastructure for tokenized apps, economies and communities. The Spacemesh community is committed in collaborating and in striving for the optimal balance between fairness to the little guy, security, distribution, scalability, innovation, unity (measures to mitigate hard forks), inclusiveness and tolerance.
Building a decentralized future
The mission of Liberthon is to build decentralized applications that will let any nation leverage on blockchain technologies, in order to increase the prosperity and equality of its citizens. An example of this are among others in projects such as:
- Decentralized voting and decision making systems
- Assets and citizenships registration
- P2P decentralized transportation systems
- Voluntary taxation systems
- Digital identities and vetting
- Efficient smart cities
- Promote the right of privacy and anonymity

The Plan:
Get ready for 30 hours of hacking, creation and fun!
The President of the Free Republic of Liberland, will give an opening talk at the start of the event and support, motivate and encourage all participating teams.
Workshop, Preparation and Meet-up:
Two weeks before the event we're kicking off with a workshop which will include speed dating and networking to help participants form teams and prepare for the hackathon. If you don’t already have a team, the kick-off event will be a great opportunity to find one!
