Sports and trans inclusion.
I've noticed time and time again that every time the issue of biological males competing against women in sports comes up, for these activities, everything is either important or not important based on how they can make it sound like a valid point.
When they wanna invalidate the idea that males have an advantage, they'll bring up how Michael Phelps has over other men because of his freakish wing-span. When I've pointed out that the majority of males have a wing-span greater than women, and that HRT doesn't shrink the wing-span, and that it's important in contact sports, they dismiss the advantage and call me a Transphobe.
They also seem to think that sports matter until they don't. Most of these people are biological, straight males who look like they've never lifted a dumbbell. That doesn't surprise me for a reason that I'll address later.
There are a lot of factors that are important in different sports; but, just like everything else these people do, they try to ignore the multivariate analysis and just talk about one factor.
If we look at everything that they've shown on ESPN, of course there's plenty of stuff wherein trans-woman wouldn't have an advantage -- poker, pool, golf, etc.
In most athletics though, there are things that people who went through male puberty will always have that are usually advantages -- height, bone density, wing-span, the size of the heart, the size of the lungs, the size of the fists, I could go on. Muscle mass changes; but, muscle composition doesn't.
Of course, they'll also always point out that the trans-women don't always win. Yeah, Lea Thomas had that viral win while not winning every competition. Still Thomas from being ranked in the mid 200s with the men to standing on podiums next to biological women. Lauren Hubbard performed awfully against the women in the Olympics; but, Hubbard was never a top lifter againt men, and he qualified for the Olympics in his forties -- double the age of most of the women. Fallon Fox was ultimately beaten by a biological woman; but, Fox had always had terrible technique.
No honest person thinks that the skinny, sickly, asthmatic kid on my high school football team would suddenly be setting records against women if he transitioned; so, it doesn't occur to us to reiterate that all too often. No, Stephen Hawking couldn't transition and beat Rhonda Rousey.
Still, the activists clearly care about this enough to treat opponents like the scum of the earth, and they do so while often downplaying the importance of sports.
Even up to high school, they'll talk about how it's just kids wanting to have fun and participate. Bullshit. This is when kids are competing for scholarships. It's not just that two biological males came in first in second in just about every track competition a few years ago, it's that they're now the two top woman track athletes being looked at by colleges. Every biological woman got knocked down two spots by males.
Now finally to the trend that most people I've clashed with on this issue are straight, cis males, and that the only biological women I've encountered on their side thinks that sports are dumb.
The reality is clear -- the only people who stand to lose anything by trans-women competing are women. All of the biological males in this debate have nothing to lose and everything to gain. If a biological woman wants to transition, and try to compete with the men, I don't think that anyone cares. If a female went on HRT and got drafted as Mr. Irrelevant in the NFL draft as a kicker, I think that most everybody would view it as a fascination moreso than any kind of injustice.
The activists never have anything to lose.
Laurel Hubbard transitioned, and all that was lost was becoming an international point of controversy, and that's assuming that that was something lost. What Hubbard gained was a trip to the Olympics despite being past retirement age. The only person who truly lost anything was the young woman who lost her trip to the Olympics.
Same for Fallon Fox who got a chance to beat the living hell out of a bunch of women, and have millions of clapping seals cheer for him. The women involved lost rankings, chances at a title, probably endorsements and prize money, and all they got in return were fractured skulls.
Women are the only group that has anything to lose. That's why it's usually men who chose this issue to flash their wokeness.
