Cultivating Emotion
Having a mental image of the things that you want in life is important. First and foremost, all in life is mental, therefore the mental images that we carry around with us throughout the day have a profound effect on the way in which we perceive the world and the people within it. The way we feel about a situation that we are experiencing is equally important to the way we think about it. One of the most influential experiences that we have is our interaction with language; particularly the way in which our brain process language. For example; Try not to think about puppies. Impossible, they are so cute! The brain doesn’t work well with negative modifiers when creating a mental picture. Words like…

No

Not

None

No one

Nobody

Nothing

Neither

Nowhere

Never

Hardly

Scarcely

Barely

Doesn’t

Isn’t

Wasn’t

Shouldn’t

Wouldn’t

Couldn’t

Won’t

Can’t

Don’t

Instead, use words that will create the things in which you want to visualize. To create additional depth to your visions, be sure to include as much of the senses as you can. Sight, Sound, Touch, Taste, Smell, and of course Emotions. A good resource for using positive language is the book Verbal Kung Fu. This is an older book and unfortunately is not the same one that is listed online and through Amazon. Another great resource is The Neuropsychology of Self-Discipline. This can be found online in various forms. I personally have worked this program and continue to do so. In-fact, the writing of this blog is my personal working towards manifesting self discipline in my own life. It is my hope that you too will benefit from this work and follow along with me as I delve deeper into my own inner workings and progress forward towards the manifestation of my purpose and vision. Lots of Luck!
