Introduction
This is my first post, so I thought it would be best to introduce myself.
I am currently in my early thirties and working as a trader in the finance industry. While I may not have the experience in the markets from the likes of legends like Buffett or Soros, I have seen great sums of money won and lost in my workplace. I have also seen great movements in financial markets that statistically should happen once in a million years.
I created this blog to keep track of my thoughts, and it was only recently that my first son was born. This blog would also be a good way to teach him about investments and markets. This was something my own father never taught me. He never received much education and whatever savings he had from his career as a carpenter, he used it to service the mortgage of his house. Whatever I learnt about markets, I learnt it through my own personal experience, the hard way. To name a few, I have tried CFDs, stocks, REITs, currencies, commodities, options, ETFs, bonds and I have lost and won. I have also attended talks by so called trading experts who charge a few thousand dollars for their courses, and lost money by applying what they taught me.
It was only in the recent years that everything made sense to me on how I should invest my money to plan for retirement. As my name implies, I like leverage, if applied in a smart way. I hope readers and my son (when he knows how to read), will find this blog useful in their investments.
