Review of Buffet Sen Tây Hồ

On the north end of West Lake, there's a complex that houses various buffet restaurants. It's beautifully decked-out with ponds, bridges, trees, lanterns, and charming buildings. It's hard to imagine the hustle and bustle right outside this area when you are at Sen.

Buffet Sen Tây Hồ has various buffets that correspond to the different restaurants. We went with the Star buffet. The Star has a wide variety of Vietnamese food as well as international favorites. I had bun cha, pho, Bánh cuốn, ostrich stir fry, clams, shrimp, grilled meat, and too many more to name. Everything was wonderful. The star (no pun intended) was the crab. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I don't think I have ever been so thorough when eating crab. It was soooooo good.

For dessert I ate as many things as I could. They had tiramisu, flan, red velvet cake, and (again) too many to name. If you go to Sen, make sure you try the Chè. The best way to describe Chè is sweet dessert soup. So good! You choose the ingredients from a table full of goodies.

The cost of the Star buffet is 370,000 to 420,000 VND ($16 to $19) depending on the day you go. That is an extremely reasonable price for the variety and quality of food you get. Make sure you go hungry.
