Public pre-sale of LetItPlay “The Audio Layer of the Internet” Launched

LetItPlay team is pleased to announce the launch of the public pre-sale of Play tokens. Private pre-sale began on 25 December 2017. During it we took time to hold private discussions with investors and potential partners of the project. We gathered a lot of feedback, that we took under consideration, as we are continuing towards main LetItPlay token sale. 

LetItPlay is a decentralized attention economy ecosystem, that would allow every news portal, blogger or site to create, distribute, and monetize audio versions of their content. 

LetItPlay CEO Andrey Durakov (@adurakov) on the purpose of the project:

LetItPlay would bring Internet to the whole new level by creating an audio layer for it. Currently bulk of content is visual, which forces people to spend time glued to the screens of their devices, but along with the ubiquitous acceptance of visual content there is an ongoing revolution in voice activated interfaces. Voice assistants graduated from being merely a marketing toy into an effective tool. However voice assistants have nothing to say because the Internet content is still predominantly visual and is not yet adapted for audial consumption.  Furthermore, it is possible that continuous development of voice assistants could change the appearance of the smartphones. They could lose displays altogether in the future, and audio becomes the most popular format for information consumption.  

We’re preparing the internet for this audio future today, and we will have a solution in LetItPlay when it comes.
 But even now, our project brings perceptible value by reducing the load on oversaturated visual channel, since most types of content can be delivered in audio form without losing anything. You could listen to the news and your favorite blogs in your car, in public transport, during meals, in the gym, or before going to bed. You can listen to audio for 3 hours a day while engaged in some other activity.  

CEO Andrey Durakov (@adurakov) first publicly announced about active work on LetItPlay in September 2017. Since then the LetItPlay team worked actively with content providers (news portals, bloggers and communities) to attract more supporters and spread the idea of audio layer of the Internet.  Among the largest content providers who joined the project are the film portal Film.ru, the history journal Fakel and the news portal RBC Perm. In total, more than 50 content providers jouned to our project.  An iOS mobile app for LetItPlay was also launched in December 2017 and available for download in App Store

LetItPlay team has the following goals in its preliminary work towards the main token sale phase:

  1. Completion of the legal basis for the project and rounding out of the advisory team in the key knowledge areas.
  2. Expert review of the main (economic and technical) sections of the Whitepaper.
  3. Measuring the feedback from the community of crypto enthusiasts and investors.

After the end of the pre-sale all participants would receive Play tokens in exchange for Ethereum at the rate of 1 ETH - 13000 PLAY (+30% pre-sale bonus).


Andrey Durakov (@adurakov)  on the necessity of launching a separate blockchain for the project:

In LetItPlay we implement the attention economy, a new approach to understanding core values and scarcities of the modern Internet. People traditionally consider quality content as the core value of the Internet, but that is no longer the case. No matter how much high quality and interesting content is available, there is only 24 hours in a day. The LetItPlay project is based on the attention economy in which the user plays the key role. User time and attention are scarce and content providers and advertisers compete for them. User attention as a limited resource becomes the measure of content quality. With the blockchain technology we can convert user attention to reward to content providers. LetItPlay Blockchain will reward content providers with Play tokens for user listens, likes and reposts. The attention economy changes the approach to advertising as well. With the user attention being the core value in the attention economy, the advertiser pays not to the ad publisher but directly to the user as a compensation for attention to advertisement content.
