There are lessons to be drawn from this experience for all parties, witnesses, Steemit, and us users. The worst thing that could happen is not improving at all, thinking memory is short and things will be forgotten.
Even if I haven't lost much trust collectively in them, some things should've happened that didn't, and I tend to remember things.
If there's one thing that you can count on in almost every situation, it's that memory is short and things will be forgotten. One sunny day and almost everybody forgets that a hurricane just washed away the city.
Which is fine if you are just trying to get on with your life, but it really sucks if your livelihood is building levees, reinforcing houses, and designing rescue services.
