Hola como estas?

Hello how are you? 

Hola = Hello   

como = how ( or in this case ) how are, since it is a question, its added (are) as a way to tell the stage from a person, ''como'' can also be use to ask how something hapend example '' como paso ? ''  '' how it happend ? ''

to respond to '' Hola como estas? ''

you say = 

muy bien gracias !  (very good thank you !)

to present your self you say

Mi nombre es Juan ( My name is Juan )

Mi = my

Nombre = Name

is = es

you can also say

Hola soy juan ( Hi im juan ) or  Hola mi nombre es juan ( hi my name is Juan )

to say during the day =

Buenos dias = good morning

buenas tardes = good after noon

buenas noches = good night
