Schillernde Gestalten sind derzeit in aller Munde. Dieser Falter gehört ohne jeden Zweifel mit dazu. Er gehört zu den Faltern die je nach Lichteinfall besonders auf sich aufmerksam machen. Klar, in der Seitenansicht ist er recht unscheinbar, obwohl er durch seine Größe schon auf sich aufmerksam macht. Seine wahre Schönheit zeigt er, wenn er die Flügel öffnet. Wer jetzt glaubt, ihn schon mal auf einer Blüte beobachtet zu haben, liegt falsch. Der Schillerfalter steht nicht auf Blüten und Nektar. Er liebt Kot und Tierkadaver. Klar da kommt gleich ein igitt. Aber er braucht diese Mineralien und Exkrementen, um sich fortzupflanzen. So wundert es nicht, dass er sich auch von Schweiß und Urin ebenso angezogen fühlt. In den vergangenen Jahren habe ich so manche Stunde mit der Nase vor meiner eigenen Urinlache verbracht, nur um ein Bild von Ihm zu erhaschen. Hier zeige ich einige der wenigen Bilder, bei denen ich das Vergnügen hatte, den Schillerfalter auf Blättern zu fotografieren.
Dazzling figures are currently on everyone's lips. This butterfly is without a doubt one of them. It belongs to the group of butterflies that, depending on the incidence of light, attract particular attention. Sure, in the side view it is quite inconspicuous, although it already attracts attention by its size. It shows its true beauty when it opens its wings. If you think you have ever seen him on a flower, you are wrong. The Schiller butterfly is not fond of flowers and nectar. It loves excrement and animal carcasses. Sure, there is a yuck coming. But it needs these minerals and excrement to reproduce. So it's not surprising that he is also attracted to sweat and urine. In the past years I have spent many an hour with my nose in front of my own urine puddle just to get a picture of him. Here I show some of the few pictures where I had the pleasure to photograph the Schiller butterfly on leaves.

Vor zwei Jahren habe ich schon einmal einen Beitrag zu diesen faszinierenden Falter veröffentlicht. Ich bin immer wieder überrascht, über die Bilder die mir in der Vergangenheit gelungen sind. Dieser Falter ist ohne jeden Zweifel immer wieder ein Highlight.

Das gröbste haben wir hinter uns gebracht. In der Natur beginnt bereits vieles zu blühen. Heute konnte ich sogar 3 Tagpfauenaugen in ihrem Winterquartier fotografieren.
