Blacktron Benny!
Benny is a frequently photographed minifig, however I never see him in my favorite LEGO space theme, Blacktron! Built the back drop in hopes of making a bigger one, with more details. I would really like to learn how to make a stop motion and make a space adventure! Riley and I have been doing Kahn academy’s Pixar in a box. Mainly on story telling and character development, it’s tougher than I thought. Having fun talking about ideas with Riley though!!

I love Blacktron as well. It was released pretty much around the time I was born, so I never had the chance to "fully experience" it, I just have some memories of Blacktron 2. Blacktron always remained a bit of a mystery to me.

That makes me at least 5/8 years older than you!! 😂😂 I’ve been doing “research” on blacktron, seeing if there was any backstory. There’s not to much, but there is some. LEGO made some stop motion videos where a lot of the story comes from. Not only were they trying to steal technology from MTron and the space police, but they also blew up a diner!! 😳 So pretty much they were terrorists! 😂😂
I never got to play with blacktron 2. Although looking back I do like the all black(blacktron) outfits better than the black and white(blacktron 2) I really hope LEGO brings back this theme or any space theme for that matter.

Ahahaha, yeah 😂
The bit of backstory I got as a kid was also that Blacktron were the bad guys, trying to steal technology from MTron to and Space Police were trying to catch them. I have some memory that either the Blacktron base or a Blacktron ship was sold at my local toy shop until the mid 90ies, but unfortunately it was way too expensive for me as a kid.
Looking back it's kind of odd that they called the guys in white outfits Blacktron 😅 But again, back then I was a kid and didn't speak any English, so it was just a cool name for me 😄
Yes, that would be really cool, if Lego would release something similar. Nindento showed that it is quite profitable, selling people their childhood memories (just look at the (S)NES Mini), Lego could think of doing something similar.
