in #legends6 years ago

Today I continue with the secrets of one of the most famous bands in the world, The Beatles and the most controversial of its members: John Lennon.

John made revealing statements about the subject such as the one he gave to Ray Coleman in an interview when he asked why he was popular saying "I know that the Beatles will have success like no other has ever had. I know because for that I sold my soul to the devil.

By 1964 all the Beatles had abandoned their religious education and were started by Bob Dylan in marijuana in a New York hotel so in 1965 they released the album 'rubber soul' that Lennon called "the Marijuana album".

At that time the Beatles professed to be "atheists", then they were named as agnostics and were decorated by the queen as "Members of the Excellency Order of the British Empire" (MBE).

After the experience with marijuana, John and George Harrison tried the LSD and product of that experience came the album 'Revolver' (1966) and the song "Yellow Submarine" because the effects of LSD George's house looked like a submarine for Lennon.

Then all began to consume LSD (except Paul) and when they did not consume they played the table oüija. John always played the ouija with the intention of contacting his mother or Paul's.

That same year on March 4 in an interview for reporter Maureen Cleave of the London Evening Standard said "We are more popular than Jesus now, I do not know which will end first, if Rock N 'Roll or Christianity" "Christianity will end ..I do not need to discuss that"

Already for 1967 they launched 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band 'whose cover was a collage made up of famous actors and actresses, writers, political socialists, four Hindu gurus and occultists among whom Aleister Crowley stands out, whom Lennon admired.

It is said his admiration arose when months before the photo shoot of sgt. Pepper was released the book 'The Black Arts' by Richard Cavendish where he referred to Crowley as "the most notorious and brilliant modern magician" and from there John became obsessed with him suggesting him in portada

In the next part I will talk more about the mysticism of the band
