Legend of the Haunted Estate
Hacienda San Pedro Cholul is an abandoned hacienda located in the municipality of Mérida in the state of Yucatan, Mexico, located east of the highway that leads from Merida to Motul. His name refers to the apostle Simon Peter and Cholul who in Mayan means "wood in the water." This hacienda had its maximum splendor during the henen boom in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Many stories are told however only two that date back to those times, are the ones that explain more correctly the origin of its spell.
The first account that there was a couple of workers on the site who were about to marry, but before this happened, a foreman of the hacienda, violated his fiancé and as revenge took the life of the aggressor. But the peasant being a good person, could not with remorse of conscience of the death of the foreman, and committed suicide soon. Upon learning of this, the workers' parents who were sorcerers, cursed the hacienda and all who were in it.
The second version of the facts, says that in 1910 the pattern of the hacienda was a cruel man, who enjoyed mistreating and humiliating his workers, threw coins from his balcony to pay them the work done, without offering them a salary. On one occasion when he returned from a trip, all the workers were waiting for him in a state of complete enragment, and he got out of the car and machete at the door of the hacienda. When they thought him dead, he was astonished, for they saw that from his trousers came a great red tail, very similar to that of the Devil.
To this day the people of the village refuse to talk about that issue, get angry and upset if anyone asks. After five o'clock in the afternoon the place looks as if it were already very late at night, the wind whistles and blows carrying with it, murmurs and moans, in addition to the feeling of being always observed or persecuted.
All these circumstances caused many satanic groups to perform countless rituals there, for some time the settlers had to stand guard in the cemetery to prevent these occult practitioners from stealing the corpses with which they performed their rites. In the can be seen by the place, human animal remains and bones, as well as clothes of people of all the ages, watered by the ground.
It is believed that in this place a door was opened to hell, because on a wall is a five-pointed star and a message written in English that says "Welcome Satan".
