Life history of Stanislav petrov. A legend in his time

Record has it that great men are to be honour and awarded for a great work in this world even when they are alive and and giving them a befitting burial after they are long gone.

7 september 1939 a great and powerful man who God use to save man from war was born. Stanislav petrov was a lieutenant colonel of the soviet Air Defence force who became known as the man who single-handly saved the world from nuclear war for his role in the 1983 soviet nuclear false alarm incident.

On 26 september 1983, just three weeks after the soviet military had shot down korean Air line flight 007, petrov was the duty officer at the command center for the oko nuclear early -warning system when the system reported that missile had been launch from the united states, followed by up to five more. Petrov judge the report as false alarm, and his decision is credited with having prevented an erroneous retaliatory nuclear attack on the united state and it NATO allies that could have resulted in large scale nuclear war. Investigation later confirmed that the soviet satellite warning system had indeed malfunctioned. This great and noble legend is dead on 19 May 2017 at 78 years of age.
