Why does the left reserve its seething hatred only for that one state?

There are many ethno-states in the world, including many in the Middle East. All have committed and/or still do commit atrocious acts.

But only one gets the sustained hatred of the American left. Not Iran, not Turkey, not Saudi Arabia, not Syria, not the UAE.

Only the one state created by the particular group that was targeted for wholesale extinction.

Why does the left reserve its seething hatred only for that one state?

It's hard to see an explanation other than anti-semitism.

Let's compare government, even Democratic government, to the American left.

Concerning Iran, Democrats in government who are concerned with nuclear proliferation or Russia are deeply concerned about Iran, but the American left in general does not hate Iran, and some critique US policy toward Iran.

On, for example, Syria, our government has supported insurgents against the Assad government, but not with the goal of eliminating Arabic government, and the left overall does not have a seething hatred of Syria or even of the Assads (which is not to say they like the Assad regime).

But with Israel, while our government supports them, including most Democrats in the government, the left has a fanatical hatred of the Israeli government.

If terrorists killed a bunch of civilians in Tehran or Damascus, there would not be a bunch of people on the left expressing their support for them or holding rallies in support. Only attacks on Israel get that kind of response.
