shǒu bù shì juàn

Meaning: Can’t leave the books, hardworking.

After David came to China, he fell in love with how hardworking the Chinese students can be, so he always have a book with him to study. Even though it is summer break, he never leave his books. He did not go to dance clubs, or the singing bar. To him, reading is a state of mind, it is not only to gain knowledge and understanding, but also to learn about the ideology of the society.
