Latherleaf, with the scientific name colubrina asiatica, is a Rhamnaceae shrub native to the Old World tropics and subtropics from Eastern Africa to India, Southeast Asia, tropical Australia, and the Pacific Islands.
It also goes by several names, including Asian nakedwood and Asian snakewood, and has a vine-like growth habit and produces numerous stems up to 9 meters long.
The branches have alternate leaves that are simple, ovate, and pointed.
The leaf surface is shiny, with several veins and wavy or finely serrated leaf margins.
