Gingko (Ginkgo Biloba)
Gingko with the scientific name ginkgo biloba, is a tree species native to China.
It is also known as the ginkgo or maidenhair tree.
The tree is a living fossil and is probably related to the modern Ginkgo biloba from the early Permian period, more than 290 million years ago.
Ginkgo trees were once widely distributed throughout the world, but their range has shrunk and was restricted to a small area of China two million years ago.
