Bearded Iris (Iris × Germanica)
Bearded Iris, scientific name iris x germanica, is a species of flowering plant in the iridaceae family.
It is also commonly known as German bearded iris and is a Mediterranean-European hybrid, not a true wild species.
This plant typically grows up to 120 cm tall and 30 cm wide.
It is a rhizomatous perennial that blooms in mid to late spring and its roots can reach a depth of 10 cm.
Some foliage will usually last through the winter.
