The mousehole tree, whose scientific name is myoporum laetum, is a species of plant in the family Psyllidaceae that is endemic to New Zealand, including the Chatham Islands.

It is also known as ngaio and is a fast-growing evergreen shrub or small tree, sometimes reaching 10 meters in height, with a trunk up to 0.3 meters thick.

The leaves are lanceolate and have many dots that show through when exposed to light.

These leaves contain the liver toxin ngaione, which can cause illness and death in livestock that eat them.
