Good advice. I think it's important to plan not just for today, but for a few months out, and even years into the future.

I see many mistakes being made in companies and governments because they don't plan far enough into the future. Government officials are typically planning far enough into the future to ensure reelection while sacrificing long-term prosperity, and corporate executives are trying to maximize their earnings through their compensation plan. These compensation plans sometimes have a good structure, but so often, it gets them trying to maximize profits one quarter or one fiscal year, while sacrificing long-term profits.

Hi @shenanigator, thanks for the reply! It's quite an art to get the two time frames in correct balance (short term and long term).
