There are three Apples that changed the world.

There are three Apples that changed the world.

The first one tempted Eve, the second inspired Newton, and the third was offered to the world half eaten by Steve Jobs.

The starting point of change is "the world as it SHOULD be".

But, there's a significant difference between "the world as we ASSUME it is" and "the world as it REALLY is".

Change is based on "outside-in" mindset.

Which also means user perspectives are key drivers to every decision made in changing internal processes, products and/or services.

But, innovation starts with "inside-out" thinking.

Which also means individual-specific vision, philosophy and different way of seeing the world are catalysts in challenging status quo.

Henry Ford once said, “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”

Fast forward to modern world with Elon Musk's remark - "When Henry Ford made cheap, reliable cars people said, 'Nah, what's wrong with a horse?' That was a huge bet he made and it worked."

So ...

To be relevant in today's disruptive world, do you think leadership should be inside-out, or outside-in?
