The key role of a leader

The other day I was meeting with 2 people from my team. We have been working remotely for about 3 months. I asked them the following question.

What is it that costs you the most since I am no longer present in the office every day? The answer was this:

“We have a hard time making decisions quickly. When there is something out of the ordinary we discuss and each one has a different point of view. Before you made the decision and we didn't waste time. "

At that moment I realized that a key role of a person who leads any type of organization is to make decisions. You also have to do it with a serenity where you do not show that even within yourself you fear the consequences of being wrong.

In a business it is impossible to always have everything clear but without a doubt one of the keys is to keep moving. Anything is better than standing still. Moving can take you down a slope but not doing so is certain death.

The more decisions you make, the more times you can be wrong but also the more times you will have the possibility of correction. Otherwise you just get paralyzed and you don't make mistakes but you don't learn new things either, which in the end is always worse.

A leader has to set an example and make decisions without fear (even if he has it).
