Jesus and the law: Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? Luke 6:3

in #lawlast month

At the beginning of his preaching, according to the gospel of Luke, Jesus had an encounter with the Pharisees, who questioned Jesus about the compliance of his disciples with the law of Moses.
But Jesus was not just another prophet, like those who had preceded him, Jesus was the "son of man", the personification of the perfections of God. His spiritual doctrine was new, and he came to establish a new covenant no longer with the children of Abraham according to the flesh, but with the children of Abraham according to the spirit.
And in his dialogue with the Pharisees, Jesus taught them that the law cannot be taken literally, but that the law must be subordinated to the common sense that provides the spiritual gift of fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion), because as the sapiential book teaches with wisdom: "Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man", Ecclesiastes 12:13.
How to decide in a particular situation in which life opposes the law or in which two virtues oppose each other; this is why the fear of God is so necessary to solve life's problems. And Jesus gave a practical case about this to the Pharisees, how David, out of hunger, took the consecrated bread to eat, and David's decision was the right decision, because the most important thing was his life and that of his companions. When the law and life are opposed, the most important thing is life, Jesus wisely suggested.
With these wise words, Lord Jesus set the example of King David when he was questioned by his enemies about the actions of his disciples:
"Jesus answered them, ´Have you never read what David did when he and his companions were hungry? He entered the house of God, and taking the consecrated bread, he ate what is lawful only for priests to eat. And he also gave some to his companions.´" Luke 6:3-4.
