Should drugs be legal?
Today, I’m asking the question should drugs be legal? And if so, what drugs? There are some drugs that are legal I.e. nicotine, alcohol, sugar, and more. But what about drugs that are illegal most places, like MDMA, LSD, shrooms, cannabis and the list goes on…
If drugs were completely legal, drug use would actually go down, after a short spike. If everything is legal, it would no longer be for example ‘’cool’’ for kids/young adults to do them. The fact that people are being punished or cast out for using drugs, makes them want to have something to comfort them, and drugs will always be there for them. However, if drugs are legalized and people are accepted, drug use would eventually go dramatically down.
Now, there are of course a few reasons why drugs should be illegal, like ‘’there would be less overdoses’’, but this is not true, because if it’s legal, people know how much they are taking. That is only one example, but whatever you say in favour of illegal drugs, people will always get what they want, illegal or not.
So, in conclusion to all this, my personal opinion is that all drugs should be legal or de-criminalized, even something like cocaine. What do you think about illegal and legal drugs?
I think all drugs should be legalized and we should go after dealers instead. If you cut the head off the snake, it dies. However, if you cut a few inches off the tail, the snake lives and grows longer eventually.
This may be true, but if the dealers are caught, there will most of the time be someone else that takes over.
