Experimental Laser Video - лазер (laser)
Hi Steemit, this is my first post! I'll be using this page to post about my two obsessions - cryptocurrency and lasers. This first post is about a laser project I worked on, titled "лазер"
For this project we utilized a practical technique that creates floating ribbons of laser light on camera. This is created by exploiting a glitch that occurs when filming scanned lasers with a camera with a rolling shutter. On first glance this appears to be computer generated, but it's created entirely live with zero post-processing.
The star of the video is Maria Kochetkova, aka "Masha", principal dancer for the San Francisco Ballet. The director is Tark Abdel-Gawad. This was filmed as a late night collaboration during another project at the now defunct experimental production company Autofuss, in San Francisco, California.
