Axioo SlimBook 14 Launches, First Local Laptop Using AMD Ryzen
A local Indonesian laptop manufacturer, Axioo officially launched two of its newest laptops from the SlimBook family, namely the Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 and Axioo SlimBook 14 R5. Axioo Indonesia's Senior VP of Marketing & Retail Sales, Teddy Susanto, claims that the two new products are the first laptops made in Indonesia that carry AMD Ryzen processors, and are made by local manufacturers. Teddy also said that the presence of AMD Ryzen in the two Axioo thin laptop lines would also support various user activities.
"AMD Ryzen Mobile Processor combines computing and graphics capabilities in one package, so that it can handle various needs. So not only for work, but also for enjoying entertainment and playing games," explained Teddy.
Axioo SlimBook 14 R3
As the name suggests, the difference between the Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 and R5 lies in the hardware sector, especially in the integrated processor (CPU) and graphics processing (GPU) components used.
The Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 is powered by an AMD Ryzen 3 3200U CPU and is combined with an AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics GPU. The dual-core CPU has a base clock speed of 2.6 GHz and can be increased to 3.5 GHz in boost mode. While the GPU SlimBook 14 R3 has three cores (CUs) with a speed of 1.2 GHz.
Axioo SlimBook 14 R5
Meanwhile, the Axioo SlimBook 14 R5 is powered by slightly more capable hardware, consisting of an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U CPU combined with a Radeon Vega 8 Graphics GPU. The CPU has a base clock speed of 2.1 GHz and can be increased to 3.7 GHz in boost mode. While the GPU itself has eight CUs with a speed of 1.2 GHz.
Design and specifications
Apart from the different CPU and GPU, the design and specifications of the Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 and SlimBook 14 R5 are practically the same. The screens of the two laptops are compact, carrying an IPS panel with a diagonal of 14 inches and Full HD resolution.
The capacity of RAM and storage media (storage) supported by the two laptops is also similar. Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 and SlimBook 14 R5 carry RAM capacities starting from 8 GB (DDR4, dual-channel) which can be increased to 16 GB. For storage media, the two laptops carry M.2 SSD storage with capacities starting from 256 GB, and can be expanded with other storage components through the available expansion slots. In addition, the Axioo SlimBook 14 R3 and SlimBook 14 R5 also run the Windows 10 Pro operating system (OS).
