Loss of awareness

#VeteransForKaepernick vs #veteransAgainstKaepernick it is Wednesday August 31 and we all have time to talk about opinions instead of talking about why this athlete did what he did. It seems that there is a rush to see who can be more pissed off and offended today. When words like racist, traitor, fascist, pig are used so readily they begin to lose substance. These were words we used to label and attack the worst in our societies in order to label and outcast them. This is due to the lack of creativity and growth in language. When these words lose substance the real traitors, fascists and racists slip through the cracks and don't get identified as the people they are. In turn we are stuck squabbling over which color or pronoun we'd like to be called.

Hey I get it, we are over stimulated monkeys. I'm the first to recognize, that I can't even keep my attention on another human being, with so many incredible things going on around me. But take a minute out of your day and just take in everything around you. From the fact that this white disk in the sky is trying is pulling the oceans away from earth once a day. To the fact that all your friends and loved ones will die one day. Take it all in because you are going to die one day too.
