Is Being Enough 'Enough' ?

in #language6 years ago

A lot of  people seem to think that being in a foreign country means that learning the main language of the country well automatically. Do you think that just doing some speaking exercises and writing about some real situations you live, can make you learn a language as advanced? In my opinion, you can not develop your language with doing some speaking and writing practises without a few important points such as knowing enough information like grammer, pronunciation and being enough for every issues, not just daily stuffs.

First of all, without knowing enough grammer and pronunciation rules, you can explain yourself but not in the correct way. To illustrate; most immigrants who live in America or England or the country where English is the native language, do not speak English very well, even after living there for 10 or 15 years. For instance; They can ask "You make coffee?" instead of "Did you make coffee?" They use wrong pronunciation thus the people easily understand where they are from because they typically speak with an accent which is very hard to understand.

Secondly, if you want to speak a language fluently and master the language, you can not just do speaking and writing. If you did some speaking or writing for learning language, you could not be adequate for discussing topics. You could talk about daily life, ordinary stuff. You could practise what you know, not nothing new. It doesn't force you for a good grammer or a good pronunciation and a huge vocabulary memorization.

All in all, when all these are taken into consideration, one can clearly state that you can not be proficient in English or another foreign language with just doing some speaking practises and writing about daily situations you live. Because there's a little pressure to do. If there's no necessity or pressure, you can not learn it as advanced, you just can learn it enough.

Now I would like to ask you all, is being enough 'enough' ?
